This is a free event, but advance registration is mandatory for this ticketed event. Guests must be present to receive tickets.

The Sutherland Lecture honors the late Zena Sutherland, Professor Emeritus and retired editor of the "Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books." After you have completed your ticket order, you will receive a confirmation email. Please print or save this confirmation. Be prepared to show your Eventbrite registration confirmation (in print or digitally) when you arrive at the event.
Enter via the Plymouth Court entrance to the library (401 S. Plymouth Ct.), as the building will be closed to the public at 5 p.m. and all other entrances will be locked. Plymouth Court doors and event check-in will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. Seating in the auditorium will be on a first-come, first-served basis. General admission seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a seat for every ticket holder. The event will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Seats that are unclaimed by 7:20 p.m. may be forfeited. Please also note that books will not be sold at this event, and there will be no author signing or photographs.
There are several parking facilities within walking distance of the Harold Washington Library Center.
